Dr. Ioannis Havoutis

Dr Ioannis Havoutis is a Departmental Lecturer in the Oxford Robotics Institute at the University of Oxford. His research combines dynamic whole-body motion planning and control with machine learning, focusing on robots with arms and legs. Building on previous work at the Italian Institute of Technology and the Idiap Research Institute in Switzerland, he is interested both in the locomotion and manipulation aspects of autonomous robots with the overall aim of enabling robots to become more autonomous and widely used in a variety of applications, from oil & gas to nuclear facilities and industrial to everyday household tasks.
